Australians living in India will not be able to apply for their passports online.
Australia’s High Commissioner to India Barry O’Farrell says Australians in India will be required to lodge their passport application by appointment.
“The online digital upload function for passport applications will end on 30 November. You will be required to lodge your passport application by appointment at the High Commission in Delhi or our Consulates-General in Mumbai/Chennai post 30 November,” he tweeted.
Mr O’Farrell posted a statement on Twitter. It says as COVID-19 restrictions have eased, the online digital upload function for passport applications will end on 30 November 2021.
“After 30 November 2021, you will be required to travel to New Delhi, Chennai or Mumbai to lodge your passport application in person,” reads the statement.
