Australian Department of Home Affairs has issued only 1,500 skilled visas in the April invitation round, the highest in this financial year.
The Department of Home Affairs (DoHa) has issued this financial year’s fourth invitation rounds for skilled independent (SC 189) and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – Family Sponsored visas.
One thousand invitations were issued in the 21 April round with a minimum of 85 points. Another 500 invitations were issued for Family-Sponsored SC 491 with a minimum score of 65 points.

The April round has taken the total invites in 2021-22 for SC189 to 1650. For Family-Sponsored visas, 1,400 invitations have been issued. Only 4,00 visas were issued in the last two rounds each.
No pro-rata occupations were invited during the 21 April 2022 round. These figures do not include invitations issued for State, and Territory Government nominated visa subclasses.
No invitations were issued in many occupations such as Environmental Research Scientist, Agricultural Scientist, Chemical Engineer etc. Social Worker, Registered Nurse and Registered Nurse (Aged Care) received invitations with the lowest score of 85 points for SC189. The lowest score for Ophthalmologist was 100.
