NRI Affairs is an independent publication for the Indian diaspora, read most heavily in Australia and after that in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and New Zealand. Advertising pays for the reporting. It does not shape it.

Where advertising appears

There are four placements on the site, plus the partner strip on the homepage. That is the whole inventory; we do not add slots to a page to sell them.

  1. Homepage hero-rail sponsor card — in the rail beside the lead story.
  2. Homepage feature card in The Break — a card in the homepage’s mid-page feature row.
  3. In-article placement — set after roughly the first 40% of the body of an article.
  4. Article sidebar card — in the rail alongside the reading column.
  5. Homepage partner strip — the row of partner marks near the foot of the homepage.

How we handle it

  • Every placement is labelled Sponsored, in the same position and the same treatment each time, so a reader can tell at a glance what they are looking at.
  • Editorial is not influenced by advertising. Buying a placement buys the placement. It does not buy coverage, a favourable angle, or the removal of a story.
  • Creative is supplied by the advertiser. We do not write sponsored copy in the house voice, and sponsored material does not carry a desk byline.
  • We reserve the right to decline a booking, including where the creative would be mistaken for reporting.
