A Tarneit-based family has been left in shock after a gang attacked their home on Christmas eve.
A group of teenagers bashed a father of two in his driveway at his Tarneit home. The young men used a metal tool and an umbrella to beat the man in front of his wife and children.
“I cannot understand what happened. It’s very suddenly…,” (sic) the man told 9News.
“It’s really very scary. We are not feeling safe,” said his wife.
Police allege three teenagers smashed into the Tarneit home early on Christmas Eve demanding car keys.
The attackers threw furniture into the windows before fleeing in a stolen car.
Police allege the same gang had attacked two other homes in a crime spree that started at 2 am the same day.
The group allegedly used a machete to hold the Daintree Blvd resident hostage in their bedroom before stealing a car and other things.

“The teens allegedly attacked another young family, threatening a mother, then kicking her daughter’s face when she tried to intervene,” 9News reported.
Police officers chased the teens down Hogans Road before they crashed their stolen car into a pole. One of the teens allegedly told the police he had consumed Xanax, alcohol and cannabis and didn’t remember anything.
