Global media and entertainment group Time Out has revealed a list of the best cities in the world.
According to the Time Out index prepared after polling 27,000 city dwellers, San Francisco is the best city in the world.
Time Out says they polled 27,000 city-dwellers about food, drink, culture, social life and sustainability.
“Then we combined their answers with some insight from Time Out staff and experts around the world and came up with our definitive annual ranking of the best cities in the world,” it said.
According to the report by Time Out experts, San Francisco ranked the top “thanks to its progressive politics, community initiatives and readily available weed.”
“In second place was Amsterdam, with its pioneering approach to sustainability, and third was Manchester, which came top in categories including friendliness, resilience and nightlife.”
According to this list, the best Australian city is Melbourne, which is ranked 15, followed by Sydney at number 16.
