Princepal Singh became the first Indian basketballer to be part of an NBA championship roster at any level of NBA when his team Sacramento Kings defeated Boston Celtics 100-67 to bag the Summer League in Las Vegas this week.
Twenty year old Princepal Singh, by being part of the Sacramento Kings’ squad that went on to win the 2021 NBA Summer League, made NBA history by becoming the first Indian in NBA history to be part of a championship roster at any level of the NBA when his team bagged the summer league in Las Vegas on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-9 forward from Firozpur in Punjab Singh finished with two points – scoring the Kings final bucket which took them to 100. The NBA Academy India alumni played the final 4:08 mins of the game. Earlier this year, Singh became the first-ever NBA Academy Global alumni to sign a G League contract and the first-ever NBA Academy India alumni to sign a professional contract.
With his NBA debut and now the championship win, Singh has set a high bar for his fellow NBA Academy India alumni.
