Australian-Indian Sports Educational and Cultural Society (AISECS) will be holding an event for international students to make them feel cared for and supported in Australia.
A first of its kind event after the pandemic hit the world in 2019, international students in NSW will be able to meet in person with the people who care for them.
The event, organised by AISECS in conjuncture with the Study NSW and Consul General of India in Sydney, will include interactions with a Cricket Australia speaker, a motivational speaker to share tips on health and wellbeing, lucky door prize, networking with local support services and a chance to connect with international students studying in NSW.
AISECS Founder Gurnam Singh says in such unprecedented times, international students are facing numerous challenges that have added burden and increased a lot of pressure on them.
“AISECS, Study NSW and the Consul General stands in solidarity with the international students and have organised this special event dedicated to them and helping those students who have suffered emotionally and mentally during the pandemic,” Gurnam Singh told NRI Affairs.
“AISECS have always supported the international students by supplying groceries, providing them opportunities via the Internship Programme and will continue to support them academically and professionally throughout. Our main motive is to tell them and assure them that we care for the International Students, and we are always here to support them.”
Students will get a chance to clear their doubts about their respective academic and personal journeys in Australia.
Gurnam Singh, who is also a Community Ambassador of Cricket Australia, says, “Considering the pandemic has taken a mental toll on everyone, this event will help the students to feel better through various motivational interaction sessions that will boost up their mental health, especially to those who have lost their dear ones in India due to the virus,”
“A free Indian feast will be the cherry on the cake,” adds Mr Singh.
